Samherjis position strong

Samherji has not missed out on the difficult economic situation but these conditions have however not affected Samherji as much as many other companies in Iceland.
Samherji is an International Seafood producer. The company´s foundations are strong and in many countries. The company’s arranging in recent years makes, together with the operations abroad being much more profitable, the company stronger and more able to tackle the tasks ahead in a different economic setting.
The Icelandic Krona has from the year 2006 been strong and disadvantageous to export companies. Under those conditions Samherji has reduced it´s investments, sold assets and arranged in its operations. This makes the company more able to tackle these difficulties we are facing.
We have been working hard in the past weeks to adjust the company´s running to these changed conditions both here in Iceland and in our markets abroad. The main undertaking has been the financial flow to and from the company and its subsidiaries.
The economic situation in the world is delicate and no one knows how it will develop in the next months. Samherjis present position is however strong and the company is able to withstand the difficulties it is facing.
